So, you’re coming to Transfer Orientation? Congratulations on choosing Bridgewater State University! The BSU staff, faculty, and Student Orientation Leaders have been training for and preparing for your arrival! To make the transition to your new educational environment smooth and stress free we invite you to attend one of our Transfer Orientation sessions.
When you arrive and check in at Bridgewater State University for the beginning of your Transfer Orientation session, if you have not already, you will have a chance to meet with one of our helpful Academic Advisers and make any class schedule changes if they are necessary. You will also have time to stop by the Academic Exploration Fair and speak with the department head of your new major or minor.
Afterwards, join in to hear about what being a scholar at Bridgewater State University is like, the Dean of BSU’s Welcome, and a speech from the Dean of the college that your intended major belongs to.
Depending on your intended major, you will then break up into different groups and listen to the department head of your major speak about your future course of study and corresponding semiannual advising.
In the afternoon, after a complimentary lunch break, you will have the opportunity to talk and ask questions to representatives from our on campus offices and resources, take a campus walking tour, and of course pick up your official Bridgewater State University ID, which is called a Connect Card.
We hope to provide all of Bridgewater State University’s transfer students with a positive and informative first look at their new university. Upon leaving orientation, we hope that all transfer students will feel comfortable, prepared, and eager to start their first academic semester with BSU.
If at any time you feel lost or have a question, please find one of our Orientation Leaders (they are dressed in the red polo shirts). They are happy to help!
