First Year Institute
Welcome to Bridgewater State University!
The first year of college is both exciting and challenging. One of the most challenging aspects of any college career is the transition into the college culture, including what is expected of students and the dynamics of university life as a whole.
The First Year Institute is dedicated to assisting first-year student commuters in their transition to Bridgewater State University by addressing common concerns and questions first-year students have during their transition to university life as well as a mentoring program.
Successful first-year students at Bridgewater State University are those who learn how to utilize resources, resolve problems, and prepare themselves to take full advantage of their time here on campus. The First Year Institute helps to promote this success by offering a peer mentor, workshops, socials and so much more!
Students who apply will develop the skills and sense of responsibility needed to be successful as a college student and community member.
